Who is Aluminum?
Aluminum is a one-man website design and development shop located in the historic Birks building in downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We specialize in designing and developing rock-solid World Wide Web (W3) standard-compliant websites that are fast loading, usable, accessible and maintainable.
Huh? Web Standards?
Believe it or not, there are guidelines that websites are supposed to follow and you'd be surprised how many web design companies don't adhere to these rules. I strive to design and build standards-compliant websites using XHTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to make sure the information you want online is easy to find and accessible to anyone. Sound good? Wait, there's more! Because the sites I design follow these guidelines, they work on ALL current web browsers, multiple platforms, and even on WAP enabled cellphones and PDA's!
What services can you provide?
It depends on what you need, but I can probably help you in a few different ways;
A) Full Design and Build
Your business needs a website. We can start from the ground up and organize a plan to work with your current marketing materials and identity to design a clean, user friendly site that works. I can even make sure to leave you with an affordable content management solution to make sure you website stays updated and fresh.
B) Site Development
You're a design/advertising/marketing company without a web developer. You have a site design for your client, but don't have a clue how to make it really work. Give me a shout and get me involved.
C) Updates, Makeovers & Maintenance
You have a website but unfortunately no one knows how to update it or even has the time to learn. I can be hired to update your site on a one-time or continuous basis.
D) Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Every site I design and code, I pay close attention to the little details and current search engine optimization techniques that are needed to guarantee your potential clients can find you. What good is a website if no one can find it?
What about print design?
I do take on print design projects on occasion. Identity design, business cards, stationary packages, brochures, if you can print on it - I can design for it. Give me a shout with your project ideas!
How do you do this all by yourself?
I don't. I am fortunate enough to know some of the best programmers, copywriters, designers, photographers and media people in the business and am able to bring these talented folks into any project that calls for their expertise.
